Itinerary
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,400m) and our representatives will transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at a hotel. You will have a first group meeting with your guide at the hotel.
On the second day our experienced guide will provide a half-day city tour in Kathmandu. The top places to visit on that day are Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. We'll arrange transportation and provide an experienced city cultural guide to accompany the group, providing informative commentary. The tour starts after breakfast, beginning with Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple. It's the oldest stupa in the world, and from the top, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Kathmandu Valley. The guide will share insights into its rich history and cultural significance. After Swayambhunath, we'll proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you'll encounter the old palace and numerous temples, each telling a unique story. You might get an opportunity to see living goddess Kumari at Kathmandu durbar square.
From Kathmandu, we will begin a 4-6 hour drive to Besisahar (800m) via the Prithvi Highway. After a quick lunch at Besisahar we will continue our journey by taking a local jeep to Jagat, a small and beautiful village. Along the way you will witness the beauty of lush green forests and rice fields. After 2-4 hours, we will arrive in Jagat, where we will spend the night.
The first day of the trek starts from Jagat to Darapani. The trek is quite long and exciting and takes approximately 6-7 hours to reach Darapani. Along the way, you will cross the enchanting Marsyangdi valley, green tropical forest, several waterfalls and beautiful villages. The adventure includes crossing suspension bridges over Marsyangdi River.
The trek from Darapani to Chame village is a beautiful trek as Chame is the administrative center of the Manang District. We will continue the journey by following the same valley. In the morning climb to Timang, where you see a beautiful view of Manaslu (the 8th highest peak in the World). The route from Timang is a gradual climb, some up and down with green pine forest. We will reach Chame after a 5-6 hours of hiking. You can walk around the village and explore its surroundings.
The trek from Chame to Pisang is one of the best and relaxing treks with beautiful pine forest and Marsyangdi river view. You can witness the stunning view of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and Pisang peak. We will pass through Bartang Village observing the apple farm and continue our journey towards Dukur Pokhari. We will reach Pisang Village after a 4-5 hour hike. In the afternoon, you can visit upper Pisang village and Monastery.
We will rise early in the morning to start our trek to Manang. The trek from Pisang to Manang is quite long but worthwhile. We can reach Manang from two different routes but we will hike through Gyaru and Ngawal village enjoying the best view of Annapurna range mountain. We will climb a steep trail until Gyaru and then the journey continues with gradual up and down. Along the way we will cross through isolated villages such as Gyaru, Ngawal, Brakha. Manang is a wide valley, just below mountain and pine forest.
Today is the free day at Manang for acclimatization. Your guide will lead a short hike to explore the beautiful Ganggapurna lake and reach a viewpoint where you can witness mesmerizing views of the Ganggapurna glacier, Mt. Ganggapurna (7,454M), Mt. Annapurna III (7,555m), Mt. Tare Khang (7,069m) and other mountains. After lunch we will visit Himalayan rescue center and enjoy mountain documentaries.
The trek from Manang to Yak Kharka is relatively short, with a time span of 4-5 hours. You can take frequent breaks and keep yourself hydrated throughout the journey. Enroute, we will enjoy the breathtaking scenery, including beautiful grasslands, encounters with Yaks, Naks(female Yak), and some wild animals. The panoramic views of the Annapurna range and other majestic mountains will add extra joy. Once you reach Yak Kharka, take a proper rest.
The other short trek to Thorang Phedi will take about 3-4 hours. We will keep climbing gradually, going above the treeline, so make sure to stay hydrated throughout the trek. We will stop for lunch at a cozy tea house, but the food might not be good. In the afternoon, you can choose to take a walk to high camp for acclimatization. It's important to rest well and go to bed early because we will begin our trek early the next morning.
This is the most challenging and significant part of the trek. We will be crossing Throng-la at( 5,416m), the highest point of our journey. To make the climb easier, we'll start before 5 AM from Phedi, using our headlamps to light the way. It's a challenging ascent, and you'll feel the altitude, but the breathtaking views of Chulu West peak and the sunrise on Throng peak and Yakwakang peak make it all worthwhile. Once we reach the top of Throng-la, at 5,416 meters, take the opportunity for individual and group pictures before beginning the descent. After enjoying the moment, we'll start descending, heading towards Muktinath. Here, you'll experience very different landscapes often referred to as a mini Tibet in Nepal, particularly in the Mustang region. Along the way, consider visiting the Muktinath temple and experiencing the spiritual significance by taking a holy shower in the 108 water spouts within the temple area. After such an intense day, you'll likely need some well-deserved rest.
From Muktinath there is an option of driving to Jomsom but the trek provides a special experience. It feels like we are crossing a part of Tibet while walking along the Kali Gandaki river bank. You will also encounter a unique Saligram rock (fossil) on the way. The path is downhill for a few hours and then it continues with a flat road until you reach Jomsom. You must reach Jomsom by noon otherwise there will be strong wind in this valley.
In the morning, we'll take a short 15 to 17-minute flight from Jomsom to Pokhara on a small twin otter plane. Once in Pokhara check into the hotel and get refreshed. The day in Pokhara is free, and there are no scheduled activities. You can have the option to engage in various activities in Pokhara, such as paragliding, bungee jumping, visiting the International Mountaineering Museum, exploring Davi's Fall, and visiting the Tibetan Refugee Camp. If you wish to engage in any specific activities, please inform your guide, and we will arrange them for you. Otherwise, Pokhara is an excellent place for souvenir shopping. In the evening, explore and enjoy the city, find a nice restaurant, and have a delightful time.
You will take a scenic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Today is the final evening so enjoy your time in Kathmandu.
Check out time from the hotel at 12 noon. Our representative will transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure. You must reach the airport before 3 hours of departure.
